The LAND Project

Submitted by admin on Wed, 10/10/2007 - 10:00.
LAND logoLAND logoThe LAND project was set in 2005 up to get people talking to each other in order to make their community a better place.  There are lots of agencies and groups working in the Barnsley area and we want to make sure that communication between them is effective, and that local people are involved in the decision-making process. We can help to support local groups to improve the communication links between agencies, the community and the Partnership, and to agree local priorities and actions.
We aim to promote community involvement and to provide practical support and encouragement; we are available to offer advice on forming groups, applying for funding and volunteering opportunities to name just a few.
If you are part of an existing group or are looking to set something up, why not give us a call and see if we can help?
We will keep the site update with news about what's on in Cudworth, so watch this space!!!

Cudworth Lunch Club

  • Are you over the age of 60?
  • Do you enjoy socialising with like-minded people while enjoying good food?
If so, we could have the answer!

Our ever successful Lunch Club runs every Monday at Grimethorpe's Healthy Living Café from 11.15am to 1.15 pm. Lunch itself is served at 12pm. The 2 course lunch costs £3 and consist of a hot main meal and either a hot or cold dessert.  Tea and coffee are included in the cost.

Community Transport can be arranged if required, for a small cost.

Each week there is the opportunity to play prize bingo before lunch, and there are regular raffles and outings to look forward to!

The Lunch Club group is currently in the process of forming a constitution so that it can apply for additional funding in its own right, to fund a wider variety of activities and day trips for its members.

The Cudworth and West Green Community Partnership is a registered charity, as it has been for many years. Being a charity allows us to carry out the work we do for the residents of Cudworth and West Green and also allows us to seek funding from a whole variety of funders from the Big Lottery to private trusts.
